A request to manufacturing businesses

If you have employed Specified Skilled Worker, including former employees, please comply with the provisions in the METI 's notification (Enhanced Standards Notification) which stipulate the creation of a certificate of work experience upon request from the individual.

When a Specified Skilled Worker is employed in the manufacturing sector based on a Specified Skilled Worker employment contract, the employer shall, upon request from the specified skills Specified Skilled Worker Specified Skilled Worker , provide the worker with a document certifying the practical experience related to the contract.

Application for obtaining an eligibility confirmation number (submission of work experience certificate)

The unique eligibility verification number issued to each applicant can, in principle, be used for subsequent exams.

How to apply

Before booking Prometric exam, please submit your "Certificate of Work Experience" and other necessary documents via the dedicated application form on this portal site, and obtain an individual "Eligibility Confirmation Number" from the secretariat.
Candidates are required to enter this "eligibility verification number" when scheduling their exam with Prometric.

If the information you submitted to the secretariat and your eligibility confirmation number do not match, you will not be able to make a reservation.

• You cannot submit your "Certificate of Work Experience" directly through the Prometric booking screen.
  Please note that you must apply in advance through the portal site and obtain an eligibility confirmation number.

Application process

About the application form

Those taking the Specified Skilled Worker No. 2 Evaluation Examination for the first time should prepare their "Certificate of Work Experience" as soon as possible and apply for an "Examination Eligibility Confirmation Number." Even those who took the exam in 2023 need to obtain an Examination Eligibility Confirmation Number, so please be sure to apply.

• Those who have already obtained an eligibility confirmation number for the 2024 academic year or later can reuse the same number (there is no need to apply for a new number for each exam).

Application period (Japan time)

• First round: Applications accepted from May 18th (Mon) 9:00 to May 29th (Fri) 18:00, 2026.
• Part 2: Under adjustment
• 3rd: Under adjustment

Estimated timeframe for issuing the eligibility confirmation number

The time from application to issuance of the eligibility confirmation number is approximately 5 business days if there are no deficiencies in the application. However, please note that it may take several more days if there is a high volume of applications.

If your application is incomplete, you may not be able to make your reservation by your desired date. Please refer to the example provided , carefully review the contents, and submit your application with ample time to spare. Also, if you receive an email from the secretariat informing you that your application has been returned, please review the points raised in the email and resubmit your application as soon as possible.

Please note that the secretariat will not be held responsible for any cases where you are unable to meet your desired reservation date or exam date due to reasons such as deficiencies in your application or delays in responding to rejection emails.
