The "Certificate of Work Experience Creation System" will be available from 2:00 PM on Monday, August 24, 2026.
This system allows you to create and download a work experience certificate in PDF format simply by filling out the required information on a web form. No installation is required, and it is available free of charge.
Applications for examination eligibility verification numbers based on work experience certificates created using this system will be given priority review by the secretariat, so please take advantage of this service.
Important information regarding the eligibility confirmation number for the SSW(ii) Exam for Industrial Product Manufacturing.
- To take the SSW(ii) Exam for Industrial Product Manufacturing, you must have at least three years of practical experience in the manufacturing of industrial products at a company with a base in Japan.
- The eligibility confirmation number is issued upon demonstrating that you possess the above-mentioned work experience.
- An eligibility confirmation number is absolutely necessary when applying for the exam. Please be sure to apply within the application period, taking into account the timing of the exam you wish to take. We cannot issue eligibility confirmation numbers outside of the application period. Please note that the secretariat will not be held responsible if you are unable to take the exam at your desired time because you were unable to obtain an eligibility confirmation number due to not applying within the application period or for any other reason.
- If there are any deficiencies in the application details for your eligibility confirmation number, the secretariat will contact you at the registered email address. Please be sure to check the contents of the email and correct your application details using the URL provided. The secretariat will not be held responsible if you are unable to apply for or take the exam at your desired time due to delays in corrections or other reasons.
- If any inaccuracies are found in the application for the eligibility verification number (including the information on the work experience certificate), the application will be reported to the relevant authorities and subject to strict measures, including the revocation of the Status of Residence. The secretariat will not be held liable for any disadvantages resulting from such measures.
Application period for eligibility confirmation number (submission period for work experience certificate) *Japan Standard Time
If you are planning to take the second examination of 2026, scheduled to be held from Wednesday, November 25th to Saturday, November 28th, 2026, and have not yet obtained an eligibility confirmation number, please be sure to apply within the application period for the "second examination" below.
- If you have obtained an eligibility confirmation number in fiscal year 2024 or later, you can use the same number. You do not need to apply again for each exam.
- First round: Applications accepted from May 18th (Mon) 9:00 to May 29th (Fri) 18:00, 2026. *Registration closed.
- Second round: Applications accepted from August 31st (Mon) 9:00 to September 11th (Fri) 18:00, 2026.
- 3rd: Under adjustment
- Applications submitted outside the application period will not be accepted. Please be sure to complete the procedure within the application period. Please note that in addition to registering your email address, you must also complete the "Application for Examination Eligibility Confirmation Number," which includes submitting documents such as a certificate of work experience, within the application period.
- We cannot issue eligibility confirmation numbers outside of the application period. Please note that the secretariat will not be held responsible if you are unable to take the exam at your desired time because you were unable to obtain an eligibility confirmation number due to not applying within the application period.

Issuance of eligibility confirmation number
After the secretariat reviews your application, we will issue an eligibility confirmation number.
- We will send your eligibility confirmation number to the email address you registered.
- If there are any deficiencies in your application, the secretariat will contact you at the registered email address. Please be sure to check the contents and correct your application using the URL provided in the email.

On the Prometric exam registration screen, please enter the issued eligibility verification number.
- If your eligibility verification number or other information does not match, you will not be able to apply for the exam.

Regarding the handling of information
The information entered when using the work experience certificate creation system will only be used within the program that creates the "work experience certificate" in this system, and will not be provided to third parties or used for any other purpose.
Furthermore, any information entered when using this system will be deleted after use, and our organization will not retain such information.
Application system for examination eligibility confirmation number
- After creating your work experience certificate using the work experience certificate creation system, be sure to submit your application through the eligibility confirmation number application system.
A request to manufacturing businesses
If you have employed Specified Skilled Worker, including former employees, please comply with the provisions in the METI 's notification (Enhanced Standards Notification) which stipulate the creation of a certificate of work experience upon request from the individual.

When a Specified Skilled Worker is employed in the manufacturing sector based on a Specified Skilled Worker employment contract, the employer shall, upon request from the Specified Skilled Worker, provide the Specified Skilled Worker with a document certifying the practical experience related to the contract (including electronic records if an electronic record is created instead of a written document).
