Regarding the Score report of the SSW(ii) Exam for Industrial Product Manufacturing

Among Specified Skilled Worker who have failed the SSW(ii) Exam for Industrial Product Manufacturing and the Business Career Qualification Test Level 3 (Production Management Planning or Production Management Operations), if they meet the requirements, such as obtaining a score of 80% or higher of the passing mark in the SSW(ii) Exam for Industrial Product Manufacturing and the Business Career Qualification Test Level 3 (Production Management Planning or Production Management Operations), and if there are deemed to be reasonable grounds for staying in Japan for more than five years beyond the cumulative period of stay for Type 1 Specified Skilled Worker visa holders, they may stay in Japan for up to one year beyond the cumulative period of stay.

If you wish to reside in Japan under the above conditions, you will need the Score report of the SSW(ii) Exam for Industrial Product Manufacturing . Please be sure to check the following information and prepare the Score report.
Please note that the method for obtaining Score report varies depending on when you took the exam.

Applicants for exams conducted on or after November 4, 2025 (Reiwa 7)

You will be able to check Score report on Prometric My Page within 5 business days of taking the exam. Please check the contents and retrieve your results.

Examinees who took the exam on or before July 7, 2025 (Reiwa 7)

Please review the following information and proceed with the issuance of the Score report.

• Please note that a Score report obtained without going through this issuance procedure cannot be used for applications to extend your stay beyond a cumulative period of five years.

• Specified Skilled Worker ( Type 1)
• Those who took the SSW(ii) Exam for Industrial Product Manufacturing between November 2023 and July 2025 and failed.

2. Files to attach to the email

Please attach the following two files, ① and ②.

• A file containing photographs of the front of the residence card.
  • The file must be a JPG, GIF, or PNG file under 5MB.
  • If you are currently applying for an extension of your period of stay, please also attach a photo file of the back of your residence card.
• A file containing a photograph (the photograph to be included in the Score report).
  • The file must be a JPG, GIF, or PNG file under 5MB.
  • The photograph must be a color photograph taken within the last six months.
  • The recommended size for photos is 200 x 230 pixels.
  • The photograph must be clear and have a plain background.
  • Wearing hats or sunglasses is prohibited (covering your face is also prohibited, even for religious reasons).
  • The face, the entire head, and the upper part of the shoulders, all facing forward, should be centered in the image.
  • The upper part of the head and the lower part of the head, including the hair, should occupy 50-69% of the image's vertical aspect ratio.

The process after the issuance procedure

After the secretariat has reviewed your application, we will send you a Score report via email.

• If there are any deficiencies or errors in the content, we will contact you by email. In that case, please review the points raised in the email, make the necessary corrections, and then resubmit the application.
• If you do not receive a response from the secretariat within 10 business days after completing the application process, please contact us at the address below. Please note that if the application process is busy, it may take some time to issue the Score report.
